Mewlet Privacy Policy

The short version
Mewlet collects nothing. There is no server, no account, no analytics and no advertising, and the app makes no network requests at all — no networking code is compiled into it, so there is nowhere for anything to go.
Everything Mewlet knows — how much you drank and when, your goal, your cat, your reminders — is stored on your own iPhone and nowhere else.
Mewlet is a reminder helper. It repeats the goal you set for yourself and makes no claim about how much anyone should drink.
What Mewlet stores on your iPhone

That one document is the whole of Mewlet’s state. There is no database, no Keychain entry, no iCloud sync and no backup to us.
It lives in an App Group container, group.cn.neijuli.mewlet, because Mewlet’s own widget and its Live Activity read the same file. Those are parts of Mewlet itself, shipped inside the same app, and read the same water progress and companion settings. No other app can read that container, and nothing in it is ever sent anywhere.
Mewlet keeps up to 60 days of history and drops older days. If the shared container is unavailable, the app falls back to its own private folder on the iPhone; the widgets cannot see that copy, but nothing else changes.
If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, the document is included in that backup, because that is how iOS backups work. That is your backup, under your Apple ID — it is not a copy held by us, and we hold none.
No network
Mewlet makes no network requests: not to us, not to a third party, and not to any service you configure, because there is nothing to configure. It has no server and no account, and it behaves the same way in Airplane Mode.
Because of that, no usage data, request log or diagnostic data leaves your device, and no third party receives anything about you from this app.
Notifications
Notifications are used for one thing only: the water reminders you switch on. They are off until you ask for them, and iOS asks your permission at that moment rather than at first launch.
Every reminder is scheduled locally, on your iPhone, by iOS. There is no push server, because there is no server. Switching reminders off in Mewlet removes the reminders that were already scheduled.
A reminder uses your custom words, or your companion’s name with the default wording, and shows how much is left and how much you have logged. It carries buttons that log one of your own sizes or postpone the reminder by 30 minutes without opening the app. Reminder notifications appear only if you turn them on. A separately enabled Live Activity can also show your chosen portrait, name and water progress on the Lock Screen.
Notification permission itself is held by iOS, so switching it off entirely is done in iOS Settings, not in Mewlet.
What Mewlet does not access
Mewlet cannot read, and does not request:
Apple Health or any health data · your messages · other apps or their notifications · screen content · your keyboard outside Mewlet · calendar · contacts · camera · microphone · location · clipboard · your files
It links no HealthKit, contacts, calendar, microphone or location code. The system photo picker shares only an image you explicitly select; Mewlet cannot browse your photo library or use your camera. A resized copy and a small portrait are saved in the shared app document, without original photo metadata. Restoring the original cat removes that saved copy. Delete All Data removes the photo and custom reminder words along with your drinking history. Notification permission is requested only when you enable water reminders.
The cat is a mascot, not an assistant. It has no opinions and gives no advice: its mood is computed from the numbers in Mewlet’s own file and nothing else. Mewlet cannot reply to you, take actions outside the app, open links, or change your settings.
Analytics and tracking
There is none. Mewlet contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind. Nothing is collected about how you use the app.
The app writes a few technical diagnostics to the system log built into iOS — that a write failed, that a Live Activity started, how many reminders were scheduled. These never include an amount, a time, a goal or a name, and they stay in the system log on your iPhone.
The Dynamic Island, Lock Screen and widgets
While you have sent the cat to the Dynamic Island, iOS shows your cat’s name and mood, and today’s water — the amount, the goal, and a progress bar or ring. The Lock Screen version of that activity shows the same numbers, and so do the home screen and Lock Screen widgets.
iOS decides how long a Live Activity stays on screen, and only you can expand the real Dynamic Island, with a long press. Mewlet controls neither, and claims neither.
Every one of those surfaces reads the same shared file as the app. That file holds amounts and times, and nothing else about you.
Deleting your data
Settings › Delete All Data removes everything Mewlet has stored. It cancels the reminders already scheduled, deletes the shared document, and returns the app to its first-run state: your log, your history, your streak, your goal, your reminder schedule, and your cat’s name and light are all gone.
Deleting the app from your iPhone also removes everything, because nothing was stored anywhere else.
Neither action changes the notification permission iOS holds for Mewlet; that is managed in iOS Settings. There is no account to close and no server-side copy to ask us to delete, because neither exists.
Children
Mewlet is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information at all. It shows no advertising, no third-party content, and no other users’ content.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data handling changes, this policy will be updated and the date at the top revised.
