Mewlet Support

Mewlet is made by a small independent developer. If something is not working, or you have a question that the answers below do not cover, please write to us.

Email: app@neijuli.cn

We read every message and reply as soon as we can. A reply usually takes a few days.

Before you write

There is no account to sign in to and no server for us to look anything up on, because Mewlet keeps everything on your own iPhone. A support reply can therefore only ever be about the app itself — we have no way to see your log, your goal or your reminders, and we cannot change them for you.

Please do not send us health information. It is not needed to fix a problem, and we would rather not hold it.

These details help us reproduce a bug quickly:

  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
  • The steps that led to it, if you can retrace them
  • Which iPhone you have and which version of iOS it runs
  • A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see

Common questions

How do I log a drink?

Tap one of the three buttons under the progress bar. The bar, the seven-day history and the cat’s mood all move. Undo beside the buttons removes the last drink. The sizes of those three buttons are yours to set in Settings.

The cat is not showing in the Dynamic Island

iOS hides an app’s own Live Activity while that app is open, so the cat appears in the island once you leave Mewlet. The island itself needs an iPhone that has one; on other iPhones the same content appears on the Lock Screen.

iOS also decides how long a Live Activity stays on screen, so it is not a permanent element. If you swiped the activity away, you can start the session again in Settings › Dynamic Island and Lock Screen.

My reminders are not arriving

Reminders are off until you turn them on in Settings › Water reminders, and iOS asks for notification permission at that moment rather than at first launch. If permission was refused earlier, Mewlet tells you so and links to iOS Settings instead of claiming a reminder will arrive.

Two other things are worth checking: reminders never fire outside the window you chose (08:00–22:00 by default), and a Focus or Sleep mode can hold notifications until it ends. A reminder can also be set to go quiet once the goal is met, which only affects the rest of that day — tomorrow still starts on schedule.

How do I stop the reminders?

Switch them off in Settings. That also cancels the reminders that were already scheduled. Notification permission itself is held by iOS, so to withdraw it completely, use iOS Settings.

How do I add the widget?

Long-press the Home Screen (or the Lock Screen) › Edit › Add Widget › Mewlet. There is a small and a medium home screen widget, and Lock Screen widgets that show progress at a glance.

How do I change my goal, the button sizes, the cat’s name or the language?

All of it lives in Settings, behind the gear button on the page. Changes apply immediately, and nothing you change there is sent anywhere.

Can I use my own photo as the companion?

Yes. Choose an image with the system photo picker, give it a name and write your own water reminder. Mewlet saves a resized copy and a small portrait on your iPhone and cannot browse your photo library or use your camera. Choosing the original cat again removes the saved copy.

How do I delete everything Mewlet has stored?

Settings › Delete All Data. It cancels the reminders already scheduled, deletes the stored document and returns Mewlet to its first-run state: your log, your history, your streak, your goal, your reminder schedule and your cat are all gone. Deleting the app does the same thing, because nothing was stored anywhere else.

Does Mewlet need an account or an internet connection?

No. There is no account and no server, and the app makes no network requests at all. It behaves exactly the same way in Airplane Mode.

What does Mewlet collect about me?

Nothing. No analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting service and no tracking of any kind. The privacy policy sets out what is stored on your iPhone, and why.

Is Mewlet a medical or health app?

No. Mewlet repeats the goal you set for yourself and makes no claim about how much anyone should drink. It does not read Apple Health and gives no advice.

Purchases and refunds

Mewlet is sold through the App Store, so purchases, refunds and family sharing are handled by Apple rather than by us. For a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem.
